“And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord. And they shall go forth and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.” Isiah 66:23-24.
“It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into hell, ‘where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ ” Mark 9:47-48.
”If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, he also will drink the wine of God’s wrath, poured full strength into the cup of his anger, and he will be tormented with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night, these worshipers of the beast and its image, and whoever receives the mark of its name.” Revelation 14:9-11.
“Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:14-15.
Little is heard in pulpits today of Hell fire but this judgement is sure for those who reject Christ. The only way to have your name written in the Book of Life and escape Hell is to accept Jesus as your Savior. Interestingly, not only will the unsaved be in torment in Hell, but those in Heaven will see the smoke of their torment and look upon their carcasses. The judgement against these rebels, who refused to the end to accept God on His terms, will be so just that those in Heaven will apparently not be distressed by the spectacle but rather will acknowledge the righteousness of the sentence.
God is merciful and will be longsuffering before pronouncing judgement but He is holy and will not be mocked. Those that reject Him will receive their just judgement and there will be no sorrow over it for those in Heaven.

Fear of Hell is the beginning of wisdom. Jonathan Edwards preached a sermon of God’s patience toward sinners, but our time on earth is short, we must turn and surrender to Almighty loving God, when we move in His direction, He moves toward us.
