“Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21)
Evil is growing all around, mainly in images, words and sounds coming from the father of lies, the prince of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in the disobedient. (Ephesians 2:1-2) Each day seems to have new attacks upon the foundations of righteousness, the family, the rule of law, honor, common sense, the US Constitution, common decency, children, unborn babies, and so much more. This is not without intention as the ruler of evil is a liar promoting lies and sowing discord, division, confusion and fear wherever and whenever. It seems like a vast majority of people have instantly become enemies of America. However, there is an extreme difference between hearing an hourly message that America has been radically altered, is filled with communist sympathizers; populated almost entirely by members of the LBGTQ, and this being anywhere near the truth.
The Gospel of Jesus Christ has not lost its power unto salvation. The good news of forgiveness of sins through faith in Yeshua Messiah is still true and people around the world are still coming to faith. The power and efficacy of the blood of Christ upon the cross has not been diminished. The resurrected Son of God still reigns at the right hand of Almighty Father God. The prince of this world now stands condemned. (John 16:11) The enemy’s actions and destruction have been prophesied ages ago by the Hebrew prophet Daniel, “He will cause deceit to prosper, and he will consider himself superior. When they feel secure, he will destroy many and take his stand against the Prince of princes. Yet he will be destroyed, but not by human power.” (Daniel 8:25)
Believers are not charged or instructed to eradicate evil from the earth. Yeshua said, “But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” (Matthew 5:39) We are not to be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. This is of course foolishness to the world and impossible in our own strength, but through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit and God’s love poured out into our hearts, we can do all things God’s word says we can. (Romans 5:5) Yeshua Messiah is King over all, but especially the Congregation of Believers and He said the gates of hell would not overcome it. (Matt. 16:18) Have faith in Him because He is a strong tower and sure refuge in time of trouble.
