The Christian Church

“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” (Revelation 3:8)

The Church at Philadelphia received these words from the Lord Yeshua and its name means “Brotherly Love”. Some prophecy teachers believe it represents the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries with the Great Awakening and subsequent revivals. This period saw modern missionary movements that included missions to India, China and all across the world by Hudson Taylor and many others, as well as outreaches to orphans and the poor. The missionary movements were the open door that no one could shut and the Revivals with accompanying outreaches to orphans and the poor is keeping His word. Finally, most churches during this period preached the gospel in the Name of Jesus faithfully. There is no denying that the Congregation of Believers throughout the world have demonstrated the love of Yeshua Messiah to the world. The Bible and gospel message has been distributed in native languages, even in communist countries that tried to prevent it. The open door could not be shut. This is not the work of any man or organization, but by the Holy Spirit working through the Congregation of Believers.

In very recent decades, another church age seems to be rising, one that is like the church at Laodicea which was neither hot nor cold. “You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.” (Revelation 3:17) These are churches that are worldly, relying on money rather than faith, accepting worldly practices of abortion, same sex marriage, departing from the Word and denying the divinity and power of the name of Yeshua Messiah. Once thriving vibrant Church groups have bern divided between traditional practice and apostate worldly positions. Presbyterian, Methodist, Lutheran, Baptist, Episcopal, Catholic and other churches have split between those which hold to God’s Word and those that deny it in order to gain worldly favor. A myriad of woke ideology contrary to scripture has creeped into the church making them neither hot and devoted to the Lord, not cold and opposed to Him. The church is divided between the world and the Lord. He says, “So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” (Revelation 3:16)

Today, the call of the Holy Spirit is to repent, turn back and receive healing and restoration from the Lord.
