Foolish Talk

”Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these teachers oppose the truth. They are men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.” (2 Timothy 3:8-9)

The media is full of folly. One outlet suggested that Americans who believe freedom and liberty are derived from God, rather than the State are a dangerous minority. A politician suggested overthrowing a close allies democratically elected Prime Minister. The President asserts inflation and illegal immigration are in control, just as these rise to record high levels. A complicit Media refuses to acknowledge or report the truth or facts unfavorable to its political ambitions.

Scripture explains that wicked evil men will oppose righteousness and truth. They have no ability to understand the truth in their delusion and depravity. Their folly is clear to anyone who follows the truth and seeks God. All through history there have been such people who spew lies and attack the righteous. Yes, in a free state they have rights and are tolerated because some may yet come to faith. Moreover, in a just society the laws apply equally to all. The irony and hypocrisy of these communists and opponents of liberty is clear to those who understand and affirm universal  rights of individuals under a loving supreme creator God.

God is the judge of all and He will adjudicate His righteousness as He determines during each person’s lifetime and afterward at the end of all things. The concept of a beginning and end of time is rejected and inexplicable in a Secular worldview. We are to discern between good and evil, pursue truth, reject lies, foolishness and seek wisdom, always remembering that judgement is not ours, but God’s.

The Apostle Paul was opposed to Yeshua, but he was confronted by Him and became a great minister of the Gospel. Others have started off well, but turned away from following the Truth. God is sovereign over all creation. “It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.” (Romans 9:16-18) Faith, Hope, and Love remain in the Congregation of Believers, and enshrined throughout God’s word, the Bible. Let us look to Yeshua, Messiah and keep in step with the Holy Spirit.
