Effective Prayer

“And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” (James 5:15-16)

I believe in asking for help, for requesting God’s will be done, (it is always good, best and right), interceding, intervening on the behalf of others, resisting the forces of evil in heavenly places, mimicking all that Yeshua does, most importantly, following all inclinations of the Holy Spirit who leads our prayers.

I’m in a few online prayer groups, because I believe more of God’s power, grace, salvation, healing, restoration, in a word, work, is accomplished through prayer than all the fund raising and money spent by people in the world. I do give, but God does  much more than money can. Do you want to be involved directly with God in His work – pray.

A wife of her husband for whom we are praying responded to our online prayer group, “if you know how to war against the strategies of the enemy please do now!” This touch me deeply and startled me. What kind of faith believes there are spiritual warriors prepared to engage the forces of darkness and ready to respond from an online request. I don’t know if I fit the description or have the knowledge or experience she seeks, but I know the Spirit is able to do more than I can ask or imagine. This man is a minister of God’s Word, like Paul who observed. ”And of this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher. That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.“ (2 Timothy 1:11-12) Yes, I will stand in prayer that Yeshua will destroy the works of the enemy. I know with one word or touch, healing restoration will come. I recall the answers to previous requests, many miraculous, doctor confounding healings. Nothing is too hard for God. I join others in calling upon the mercy and compassion of Yeshua, Messiah. Oh, how deep and effective is the Lord’s compassion. (Matt. 14:14; 15:32; 20:34; 2 Cor. 1:3; Luke 7:13; etc.)
