Remember Now

“Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”— before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain; when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows grow dim; when the doors to the street are closed and the sound of grinding fades; when people rise up at the sound of birds, but all their songs grow faint; when people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets. Remember him—before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well, and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.”(Ecclesiastes 12:1-7)

Remember your Creator before your spirit returns to God and no more praises can be uttered, no more thanksgiving offered, no kind words spoken, no forgiveness granted, no love expressed, no honor be given, no glory reflected to God from whom all blessings flow and for whom we live and have our being.

With God’s brush in hand He flicked a stroke that became you, fitted perfectly amid His living painting on earth. Such a small stoke, seemingly insignificant, but through His infinite wisdom and creative perfection your destiny and His Glory gave purpose to human life. We don’t see the full picture, but He has broken it down and described it from beginning to end, from top to bottom and east to west through His word the Bible. With faith we see His likeness, the pictures that are told with a thousand words and stories of unconditional love, hope, redemption, sacrifice, and miraculous acts of deliverance. Toward the end of this majesty of His presence, there are dark shadows of sadness, wickedness and destruction, but light pierces through and the foreshadowed return of the Son in White leading the armies of Heaven draws a close of glory unspeakable. “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth,” for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:1-4)
