Believer’s Today

“I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world. My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.” (John 17:14-19)

This prayer of Yeshua is powerful for all those who Believe and trust in Yeshua Messiah. All of Yeshua’s prayers are answered and accomplished. The Congregation of Believers has the Word of God, in written form and in their hearts activated by the Holy Spirit as a living, active, directed, eternal word of God Almighty. (Heb 4:12; I Peter 1:23; 1 Tim. 4:5-6; 2 Thess. 2:13; Deut. 30:11-14)

“For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy. The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: “This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.” Then he adds: “Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.” And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.” (Hebrews 10:14-18) This is summarized in the word “sanctify”, which means to be set apart, declared holy, cleansed from sin, absolved, redeemed, consecrated, anointed, dedicated to God and blessed. We may not see or perceive this always, because we live in space and time, whereas, the Spirit’s work is eternal and perfect. Also, as the Lord prayed, we are in a fallen world which hates us, but He has secured our protection from the evil one. What are the consequences of these facts and reality in our life?

Just as the Lord was sent into this world, so are we carrying the word of truth. Against the corruption and hate of the world we shine and preserve as the light of the world and salt of the earth. (Matt. 5:13-14) We do not rely upon our senses, reasoning, or physical attributes, but upon the unseen Holy Spirit, faith in and from God, and His mighty power and unfailing love to accomplish His purposes in and through us. (Rom. 5:1-5) All Glory be to God alone!
