Kemi Badenoch and Immigration

Kemi Badenoch is a British politician who is currently gaining much notoriety/support in England. She has served as Shadow Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government since 2024 and was Secretary of State for Business and Trade from 2023 to 2024. A member of the Conservative Party, she has served as a Member of Parliament for North West Essex since 2017. She stood unsuccessfully for Prime Minister in July 2022 but she has recently launched a bid to become leader of the Conservative Party which is now out of power having lost the most recent election

Kemi has taken a particularly strong position on England’s immigration problems with increasingly large numbers of people immigrating there, both illegally and legally. Kemi has stated that in considering who to allow to immigrate to Britain “not all cultures are equally valid”. She believes “Those we choose to welcome, we expect to share our values and contribute to our society.” She calls for a complete overhaul of the system and does not rule out leaving the European Convention on Human Rights. She also calls for a better “integration strategy” for those that are let in that emphasizes British values and culture. Kemi maintains that “Culture is more than cuisine or clothes. It’s also customs which may be at odds with British values. We cannot be naive and assume immigrants will automatically abandon ancestral ethnic hostilities at the border, or that all cultures are equally valid. They are not. I am struck for example, by the number of recent immigrants to the UK who hate Israel. That sentiment has no place here.”

Kemi provides words of wisdom for America in regards to controlling our illegal immigration. It is foolish to allow uninhibited entrance to our country without proper screening for criminals and other persons who do not hold the values of our country. These include values of justice and equal rights for all and adherence to shared Christian moralities (whatever religion they choose to follow). All cultures are not the same, some worse than others, and this should be considered in allowing persons into our country. For example, many persons from other cultures hate our country and “Western” values and are anti-semitic such as many Muslims. Even when allowed to immigrate into our country each person should be required to learn our language, have a job and assimilate properly to our culture. If they are not willing to do this, why would they want to come here in the first place? They should go back to the country they came from whose values they espouse.

Hopefully, this election will bring a President that will get immigration back under control and recognize that while healthy immigration can strengthen a country, allowing persons into the country that do not hold traditional American values of morality and fair play will lead to the destruction of our country. Godspeed to Ms Badenoch in her battle for party leadership. Hopefully, one day she can obtain the office of Prime Minister and better handle immigration in Britain.
