“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 9:10)
There is a harvest of a crop, the consequence that righteousness produces within us as Believers. It is by faith and love working in the spiritual realm. God is love and His love for all His creation is like the sun shining and rain falling upon the earth that produces plants and fruit. However, the curse which came from the fall of mankind frustrates His original loving intention. “…Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.” (Genesis 3:17-18)
Anyone who has had a vegetable gardened understands very well what effort is required to combat the weeds, insects, blight and deficiencies of the soil necessary to produce a harvest. However, the Kingdom of God is spiritual and different from the fallen temporal world. Yeshua redeemed all whose names are written the Lambs book of life. (Rev. 20:5) The power of sin and death are broken over us as we are born again into the unseen spirit realm. This transformation is not the result of our own labor or effort, but rather a consequence of God’s love, poured into our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). The law of sin and death is working in the lost to produce all manner of evil, wickedness, crime, pain, bondage, sickness, addiction, affliction and every curse that sin produces. So, these two opposite realms exist together in opposition each warring against the other. Human reasoning may suggest our effort can resolve it and produce a utopia on earth. Not only is this false, but it is a wicked lie from the enemy. Thousands of years of human history proves we can not lift ourselves up by our own effort.
Only submission and acceptance of Yeshua Messiah as Lord and Savior results in a rebirth into the Spiritual realm. The gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit raises us to a new life as a new creation. This is the power of God by grace upon those who believe. Righteousness is granted and spiritual life begins to release the love of God accordingly. The presence of God breaks all strongholds of the enemy and the entire Congregation of Believers around the earth reflect His love and mercy in acts of righteousness. This righteousness is by the Spirit of God producing a harvest of faith’s fruit – love. (Rom. 7:6, 8:2-4; Gal. 3:2-6; 2 Cor. 3:5-6)
