Kingly Acts

The founders of America were disgusted with a Monarchy and wanted no more edicts against their God given liberties; Arbitrary taxes against certain portions of the country; Manipulation of commerce and free trade; Overriding individual privacy and property rights by government agents; Unequal or no representation in parliament and no voice against grievances. The King was considered sovereign, not answerable to the people, nor accepting of basic self-evident rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The US Constitution enumerated these rights and limited government intrusion upon or diminishing them. We have seen Presidents acting as King in recent years, through unconstitutional executive orders, rouge unauthorized Agency rules, and unconstitutional acts. 

Joe Biden is the worst offender, setting new records of kingly edicts. He demanded citizens take an untested shot that was not a vaccine, or lose their job; he attempted to forgive student loans without authority to do so; he issued executive orders to control the price of gas, and many more. The SCOTUS struck down most of these, but he refused to stop, holding munitions which Congress authorized for Israel’s war against Hamas. 

Something must be done to penalize kingly behavior apart from impeachment, which requires high crimes and misdemeanors. The people must act whenever a President violates Constitutional boundaries, as Biden did by censuring free speech with FBI agents embedded in Media. A severe penalty should apply to any federal employees that has violated Constitutional rights.

The president should not be permitted to manipulate prices, of commodities or any consumer goods. Where a President’s action causes gas prices to increase or decrease by manipulation, for example, stopping sales of oil leases or trading gas from the strategic oil reserve, these unauthorized Executive branch actions must be penalized. Finally, where the executive branch seeks to force its rules, edicts or orders to control matters of individual liberty and contrary to Constitutional authority, the People must act. How can that be done? First by county, city and state rules. This was demonstrated by so called “sanctuary” cities for illegal immigrants. These county’s, cities and states have set a precedent for treating destructive riots as civil protests, flagrant disobedience to Federal laws and noncompliance with laws or rules to which they disagree. Texas has had to take similar action to protect its own territory from foreign invasion. The government must comply with the laws and constitution or be subjected to change. The Declaration of Independence states , “that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”
