Name Above All

There are untold millions of stories, many that bring encouragement and touch our heart strings, but there is only one story that brings life, transformation and rebirth. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.” (Romans 1:16)

There are many songs, some so sweet and beautiful they move us deeply. But there is a new song to be sung by the four living creatures and twenty-four Elders. “And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.” (Revelation 5:9) All human history is like a preface to the Book of Life. “The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels.” (Revelation 3:5)

There are many names that are famous, of notoriety, and honorable, but there is one name above all names. “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name.” (Philippians 2:9) Names may open doors of opportunity or assistance, but the one Name above all has power to save. “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12) This earth is filled will awe, beauty and marvels, but the presence of Yeshua is beyond description in every aspect, as John saw, “Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them.” (Revelation 20:11)

A new reality is waiting in Heaven for the redeemed children of God. It will be beyond anything we can imagine because our Lord Yeshua will be there and we will be united through Him in the Father. “A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has come; but when her baby is born she forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born into the world. So with you: Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” (John 16:21-22) God’s goodness will be revealed and it will be Heaven.
