“… Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you.” (Exodus 20:24b)
Where is the name of the Lord honored? It could be anywhere, our workplace, home, or school. We are to take the word of God to heart and put it into practice, not like a scheme to get what we want or magic spell, God forbid, but out of a thankful, believing heart and mind. I believe God will release honor through us toward Him by name as long as we are open to Him with faith, seeking Him and to be in His presence. Then as though it is a certainty He will come and bless us. That blessing could reach our work and harvest therefrom.
Let us honor the name of the Lord in all we do and where ever we go. His name is first, “I Am”, “the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob”. However, He is also, Yeshua, Messiah, the name above all names. We honor Him with words and deeds. Whenever we are mindful of God to forgive those who have wronged us, it honors Him. Whatever act of charity kindness or love done purely for the love of God, it honors Him and His name. “Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” (1 John 4:7) Obedience to Holy Spirit leading and His word is a path leading to God. We are never left to ourselves, just as God helps us escape temptation, the Spirit guides us into all truth. He delivered Israel from slavery, provided for them in the wilderness after they repeatedly rebelled and He brought them into the promised land. He keeps every promise.
Scripture can not be more clear that God wants us to bring our requests to Him with faith that He is better than any natural father and cares deeply for us. (Luke 11:8-13; 1 John 5:14-15; John 16:23-27)
Prayer: Lord, God Almighty you have given us your word full of power. Your power is great as is your mercy, love and compassion. We are weak, selfish and prone to evil. Send help so that we will honor you and release blessings. You give us every good gift. Give us faith to know you, your will and your ways. We wait on you. Let your unfailing love come to our little ones, whom you said are not to be hindered from reaching your arms.
