Ministry of the Holy Spirit

Yeshua, Messiah had a three year Ministry on earth in which He revealed Father God in human form, words of life, deeds, signs and wonders, miracles, sacrifice, submission, resurrection, faith, the Gospel, grace, forgiveness and the reunion and reconciliation of humanity with God. One of His final acts was to impart the Holy Spirit to all Believers.

The Holy Spirit is God’s presence on earth since Yeshua ascended into Heaven. His Ministry on earth will extend to the second coming of Yeshua and His Millennial reign as King on earth. As shadowy as we consider the ancient world of the Patriarchs and Prophets, those in the millennial reign may consider our days of war among nations, technological advancement, the segmented Church and resistance to Holy Spirit ministry. Yeshua said, “‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.” (John 15:20) This is true of the Holy Spirit’s ministry also. Those who accept the Spirit and follow in His leading, gifts, power, and direction will move from glory to glory in God’s Kingdom, but there will be those who resist Him. Yeshua came to his own people and they rejected Him, though a few Believed. Today, the Ministry of the Holy Spirit is resisted, though some who Believed. 

There is One God and no division between His triune personhood. The Ministry of Yeshua and the Father is the same Ministry of the Holy Spirit, but the times, people and progression of prophecy are different. The Church should be and will be in union with Israel and unified among itself, but it is not yet. The Spirit’s ministry is by faith. Looking back at Yeshua’s ministry, we see His miracles and have His Word recorded in the Bible. Sometimes we wonder at the level of unbelief and resistance Yeshua experienced from those who should have been longing for His appearance. Today, we have the indwelling presence of Holy Spirit in each Believer. During the millennial reign of Yeshua, I expect they will wonder at the unbelief and resistance there is to the Spirit’s leading. 

How have we welcomed the appearance of the Holy Spirit, prophesied ages ago? “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27) How great is the difference between a heart of stone versus a heart of flesh. Lord, give us faith to embrace the complete ministry of your Holy Spirit.
