Gaza’s Future Foretold

“Ashkelon will see it and fear; Gaza will writhe in agony, and Ekron (on the western coast) too, for her hope will wither. Gaza will lose her king and Ashkelon (just north of Gaza) will be deserted. A mongrel people will occupy Ashdod, and I will put an end to the pride of the Philistines. I will take the blood from their mouths, the forbidden food from between their teeth. Those who are left will belong to our God and become a clan in Judah, and Ekron will be like the Jebusites. But I will encamp at my temple to guard it against marauding forces. Never again will an oppressor overrun my people, for now I am keeping watch.” (Zechariah 9:5-8)

God tells all who listen the future in advance to show that He rules and establishes His will together with justice and righteousness. Hamas did overrun Israel and it will never happen again, not because Israel is able to defend themselves, but because God has proclaimed He is keeping watch. There is a great deal of talk about Gaza’s future. Foolish leaders proclaim the tired, failed settlement, the “Two-State Solution” which Israel’s enemies do not want and have rejected for as long as the liberal west and others concluded it was a just and right resolution. Israel’s enemies will be satisfied with nothing short of their annihilation, which they have acted upon and clearly declared since 1948. It is pompous and stupid to recognize a state that does not exist, has no defined people, and only rules over efforts for Israel’s destruction. Gaza was an independent Arab state until the people elected Hamas to rule over them. Hamas stole all the funds and resources provided to Gaza and built tunnels and a terrorists war machine to attack and overrun Israel. The U.N. assisted in that plot even providing its employees to participate in the attack. Time has expired for the “Anti-Israel” nations and their U.N. supporters to dictate Israel’s destiny and borders, not because the U.S. stands with Israel, but because God has declared so.

We are not so naive to believe this will change France, Canada and England from supporting the “Palestinians,”  a mongrel group of mixed Arab decedents who have been rejected by their own nations and used as imprisoned pawns to harass and accuse Israel. Israel has tried to resettle these migrants, to their homelands; in the “West bank” with their own self rule, and even offering them citizenship in Israel, but their evil “Leaders” refused, calling instead for “Death to Israel”. Gaza has fallen into the same trap as the “Palestinians”, not by Israel, but by the same evil  leaders. In Scripture, God has declared enough.
