War on Earth

“So it is written: ‘The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam, a life-giving spirit. The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that, the spiritual. The first man was of the dust of the earth; the second man is of heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the heavenly man, so also are those who are of heaven.’” (1 Corinthians 15:45-48)

The world is caught in a seemingly never-ending war of nations. Why is this? A movie presented a quote by Thornton Wilder: “The American man is a murderer at heart.” While I object to attributing this sentiment solely to “American men” due to its political undertones, Scripture and history teach us that from the heart of man comes “…every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.” (Romans 1:29-31) The human race is broken due to the fall, but Yeshua Messiah came to provide forgiveness and victory over Satan and his forces of evil, sin, and death. (Romans 8:31-39)

Physical reality precedes spiritual reality, meaning we are born in a body of flesh before we are born again in the Holy Spirit. I believe the millennial reign of Yeshua Messiah will demonstrate and embody this truth as mankind and creation are restored to our unbroken spiritual fullness under the authority of our Lord and King. (Revelation 20:1-6) Some suggest this is merely symbolic of the “Church age.” While Spirit-filled believers do constitute the temple of God’s Spirit on earth, this understanding falls far short of the millennial reign as described in Scripture. (Isaiah 11:1-16)

Missile defense was described in Scripture long before missiles were even imagined. (Ephesians 6:16) In these last days, the congregation of believers is being armed again and more fully with our spiritual weapons. The war continues, but the end is prophesied to culminate in a tremendous victory for the Lord of Heaven’s Host. We will all be separated from our fleshly bodies, but all who have believed in Yeshua as Lord and Savior and have been born again with the Holy Spirit will live eternally in God’s presence. Then, we will see that it was all God’s doing from the beginning to the end of the world and its renewal in Heaven.
