This phrase has been around for a long time perhaps originating with greek philosophers and intellectuals who contributed to the formation of western culture. I asked AI to comment on it and contrast the concept with communistic ideals. What I got was a distinction between selfish materialistic capitalism and unselfish collective marxism. Only when I asserted that there was no consideration of a Judeo-Christian perspective, did AI correct its biased comparison of communistic ideas. Moreover, I had to point out that the lofty, humanist concepts of marxists have never been realized in history or reality. Subsequently, it agreed and provided a well stated synopsis of how, for the Believer, One’s Life Work, is connected to an individual’s diligence to and advancement of God’s purposes and calling in humility, faith and family.
Every person in God’s Kingdom has purpose and calling, which is designed and measured by God, rather than others or worldly society. Jesus met a man blind from birth. His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.” (John 9:1-3) Yeshua (Jesus’ Hebrew Name) fulfilled the blind man’s calling to be miraculously healed. The perspective of God is beyond human rationalization or understanding. In the famous Dickens story, “A Christmas Carol”, the angel remarks to Scrooge, regarding the bleak condition and future of Tiny Tim, “In the eyes of Heaven, this child is worth more than you.”
Charlie Kirk finished his live’s work on this earth well. He was asked long before the assassination what legacy he most desired. He replied, “My faith, it is the most important aspect of my life.” Charlie Kirk was humble and of great faith that gave him a message for the college Generation he served, that they could achieve great things as they accepted God’s call and embraced the scriptural principles upon which America was founded.
God’s call is by faith and to faith. “For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”” (Romans 1:17) The Holy Spirit enlivens and empowers Believer’s to enter into a relationship with the Triune God of the Bible. From this a life of faith proceeds, abundant, transforming, Spirit-filled, humble, loving, marked by grace and sacrifice. All things are possible for him who believes. (Mark 9:23)
