Validation of Prophecy

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’” (Isaiah 46:10)

Fulfillment of Biblical prophecy is certification of its validity. Prophecy is a defining character of God Himself. It is His purpose to create and use prophecy to grow faith in Him and highlight His Justice and Mercy; as prophecy will reveal the just condemnation of the wicked and acts of an unseen saving hand to the faithful. (Matt. 25:31-46 ) In contrast the enemy’s crude and fraudulent imitation of fortune telling, prediction, magic, and various forms of witchcraft are simply lies and distortions of God’s prophetic and glorious beauty. 

An illustration is in prophecy which affirms the abolition of death. Death came about by the fall of man in the beginning through Adam and Eve, assisted by the enemy as he was cast down to earth. (Rev. 12:9,12) Death can not be excused by Satan’s inspiration and promotion of sin; it is rebellion against God. As children of Adam the curse of death is upon each of us, undeniable, dreaded, feared and utterly certain. (Heb. 9:27) Death is unlike life which is completely mysterious, beyond definition, and too often taken for granted. 

The greatest and most important prophecy in Scripture is, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4) “When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: ‘Death has been swallowed up in victory.’ Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting? The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.” (1 Corinthians 15:54-56) Jesus declares, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26) 

These are prophecies of God’s gift of eternal life to every Believer. The extinguishment of mankind’s curse is glorious beyond comparison or description. It validates the infinite glory of Heaven where the saved Children of God will live in the presence of God Almighty. The removal of death is a God-sized act, unimaginable by man, and predicated upon a string of fulfilled prophecies recorded in scripture over thousands of years of human history.
