Israel has been fighting a multi-front war against several enemies which have sought  their annihilation for over two years. America has been an ally of Israel since its prophesied miraculous regathering as a nation in 1948. It was attacked in 1967 by the combined surrounding arab/muslim nations and again in 1973, 1982, 1987-93, 2000-2006, 2008-2009, 2012, 2012, 2021, and 2023. Several of these earlier conflicts included remarkable events and outcomes that cannot be explained by natural human efforts. During this span of years Israel has sought peace and negotiated in good faith with its neighboring nations, but little has come of it beyond peace with Egypt and Jordan.

Scripture alone enlightens and explains the spiritual forces arraigned for and against this tiny nation with physical consequences and historical reality. “I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling…” (Zechariah 12:2) God destined Israel to be located and standing where they are. “On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.” (Zechariah 12:3)

Israel is God’s instrument to test, judge and punish nations that refuse and reject Him. The lyric quoted above is offensive to the rational mind, but it is supported by several scriptures. God has said Israel will always exist before Him, not because of anything they have done, but by His faithfulness to His promises and His name. (Jeremiah 30:11, 31:36; Ezekiel 37:22, 28; Rom. 11:29) Moreover, its ongoing existence as a distinct people though they were scattered around the world is unique. The enemy of all mankind has been opposing Israel from the beginning because of the promises of God to this His chosen nation. Upon Israel rests God’s own word, Yeshua, Messiah of Israel and the people/nations who seek Him.

As we approach the end times, signaled by the regathering of Israel as a nation, the prayers of Christians to God Almighty are covering Israel in petitions, intercession, and support as the Spiritual forces of light and darkness war. (2 Cor. 10:3-5; Eph. 6:12)  Spiritual powers in heaven are eternal, love never ends, the spiritual essence of every human will be judged after physical death. Hell is separation from God. It is the second and final death for all who reject God, Truth and Love of God. (Rev. 20:14-15, 21:8; John 8:44)
