Evidence of the Holy Spirit

When man was imagined and made it was in God’s image. We were made of the dust, the basic earth elements that were previously created. We were fashioned by and for God as a habitation for Himself. In the beginning Mankind was full of temporal life, but without the element of God’s eternal life. Like a toy there was a place for eternal batteries, but we were operating on a windup mechanism of life and when the windings came to their end the toy stopped.

The Holy Spirit is our guarantee of eternal life. (2 Cor. 1:22) Every Believer is given a measure of Holy Spirit in a process of Spiritual rebirth. Nicodemus sought to understand being born-again with rational analysis, but struggled. Yeshua, referred to the nature of wind which is invisible, but detected by its influence. (John 3:8) Perhaps if Nicodemus had better understood physical birth he would not have questioned how he could experience it. We are formed in our mother’s womb and delivered by her contractions and exertion, not by our own efforts. Similarly, we are Spiritually born again when God opens our blind eyes with faith and we believe upon and behold our Lord and Savior, Yeshua, Messiah. The deposit of the Holy Spirit is given as a gift which evidences Himself in the spirit receptacle of our human body, soul and spirit. God brings it about; it can be messy, thrilling, mysterious, unexplainable with rational thinking, cause for great rejoicing, and God’s birthing process of a new creation. (2 Cor. 5:17; Gal. 6:15)

Where is the evidence of all this? First Century Believers witnessed and recognized the filling of the Holy Spirit’s presence by expressions of Spiritual gifts. (Acts 10:44-46) Does that infer this is a standard requirement? No. No more than it means we all have the same spiritual gifts. Does it suggest we should test or verify that everyone has an acceptable expression of the Spirit’s presence? No. If there was a test it would be God’s love poured out into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, but that is demonstrated by a new creation.

When we live surrendered to and lead by the Spirit the power and love of God will flow in and through us. He will get the Glory and praise and we will fulfill our destiny of being conformed into the image of our Lord Yeshua. (Rom. 8:29) When we walk in step with the Spirit we will be contrary to world ways and in the pathway of faith rather than sight. “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.”” (Hebrews 12:28-29)
