Whose Sanguinity

Where in scripture does it suggest we are to limit our hopes, expectations, or acts motivated by faith? God’s congregation is not instructed to hunker down as in a besieged bunker. Our commands are charges to advance.(Mark 16:15; Matt. 22:37-40) Yes, we hold onto the Gospel as it was taught by the Lord in scripture and at all times we keep in step with the Spirit our leader on earth, but He lead us on a journey of victory. Yes, our ways and means are submission and surrender to our Sovereign King, but not to the world or its ways. The same path of Yeshua’s victory over sin and death is open before us, not by our strength, nor by our decisions, but through hardship and struggles overcoming by the word of our testimony and the Spirit.

Our vision is not with eyes that are subject to trickery, mirage,  or uncertain subjective mental interpretations of perspective. The sight we have is in full daylight, unhindered as we have become in Messiah – “Children of the day”. (1 Thess. 5:5-9) This world and the enemy usurper feed on lies, deceit and hate, but we are opposite, just as doubt is not the opposite of faith, but rather self-will. We follow our Lord and King, giving up our lives, not in desperation or defeat, but love and confidence in the One who holds everything in Heaven and Earth in His everlasting arms. (Deut. 33:27)

There is no fear among the army of the Lord of Hosts. Their charge is ordered. “…Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come. Before them fire devours, behind them a flame blazes. Before them the land is like the garden of Eden, behind them, a desert waste— nothing escapes them. They have the appearance of horses; they gallop along like cavalry. With a noise like that of chariots they leap over the mountaintops, like a crackling fire consuming stubble, like a mighty army drawn up for battle. At the sight of them, nations are in anguish; every face turns pale. They charge like warriors; they scale walls like soldiers. They all march in line, not swerving from their course. They do not jostle each other; each marches straight ahead. They plunge through defenses without breaking ranks. They rush upon the city; they run along the wall. They climb into the houses; like thieves they enter through the windows. Before them the earth shakes, the heavens tremble, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine. The Lord thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty is the army that obeys his command.” (Joel 2:2-11)
