God the Lord is an unending source and flow of goodness to the righteous. We may go to the fountain of life and drink deeply to our hearts content. Every true believer is a child of God and has been reckoned righteous, granted righteousness as the direct result of Yeshua’s substitutionary death on a Roman cross approximately 2018 years ago in Jerusalem, Israel. Yeshua is the Messiah, Son of Father God, who lived a perfect sinless life and paid the spiritual price as ransom for all who believe on Him. The testimony, evidence, and assurance we have for this great gift of life eternal is in the Hebrew prophetic scriptures recorded over thousands of years, but fulfilled in minute detail during the life of Yeshua as recorded by faithful witnesses in the Bible. Secondly, Yeshua proved all he said
and asserted, by numerous and varied established miracles. Thirdly, Yeshua arose from the dead after three days, as witnessed by over five hundred people, and ascended into heaven. Finally, the confession and faith within each believer is accompanied by an impartation of the indwelling Holy Spirit of God, establishing a relationship with the Living God, that endures throughout eternity and is a guarantee of salvation.
So, Believers have unhindered access to the provision, protection, blessing, love, strength, power, wisdom, and anything else in all creation that is necessary for life and godliness. “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God: You will be blessed in the city and blessed in the country. The fruit of your womb will be blessed, and the crops of your land and the young of your livestock—the calves of your herds and the lambs of your flocks. Your basket and your kneading trough will be blessed. You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out. The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven. The Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you. The Lord will establish you as his holy people, as he promised you on oath, if you keep the commands of the Lord your God and walk in obedience to him. Then all the peoples on earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will fear you. The Lord will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.” (Deuteronomy 28: 1-13). All the above conditions have been fulfilled by Yeshua as we live by His Spirit in love toward God and our neighbor. “And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.” (1 John 3:23).
“How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart.” (Ps. 36: 7-10). The goodness and promises of God are too many to list, even in summary fashion, but He is Love, the one thing that all mankind needs most, seeks always, and prizes above all else. Yeshua said several times, “Very truly I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.” (John 16: 23, 24; Matt. 7:7; 1 John 5:14-15; Matt. 21: 22; John 15: 7, 16; James 1:5). There is one condition James points out, “But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” (James 1: 6-7). God is not a Genie that He gives you what would destroy you and others or serve only your pride and lust. (James 4: 3). “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1: 17). Run to the fountain and receive life abundant.
Before I finished writing this, out of respect for you, I considered whether I believed God’s word with faith. I found that He is faithful and His word reliable, but waiting was quite difficult. During this time the accuser suggested that I was double-minded; that my request was selfish, testing God, and therefore void, and that I did not deserve anything, as I was unworthy. In this last point, Satan overplayed his hand because, I agreed with Yeshua’s reply to the apostles when they asked, “Increase our faith!”, “So you also, when you have done everything you were told to do, should say, ‘We are unworthy servants; we have only done our duty.’ ” (Luke 17: 10). With this the peace of the Lord returned. I rested in the Lord’s perfect will, put on my cap and met a man who freely provided what I had asked of the Lord.
