Are you conscious that God is aware of everything that concerns you? You may quickly reply, “God knows everything.” The paramount question to each of us is, “Can we rely upon His help and love?” Consider all the variables, constraints, alternatives and possibilities which relate to this life, God’s purposes and what is best. With complexity comes uncertainty and fear; dread or anxiety are often triggered by the unknown.
Yeshua told us to rely on God’s love for us, illustrating how He provides for small birds and will likewise supply our needs as we are more valuable than many birds. Doctors recommend that stress is a killer which constricts blood flow, increases blood pressure, drains our natural resistance and alters a healthy state. Why are we so tense? Where is our faith in God’s love and promises? Are we too impatient to wait for comfort and security or are we unsatisfied with the comfort and security we already have? Fear has to do with punishment, do our sins give us an expectation that God will bring judgment? Do we have access to forgiveness and grace in Yeshua or do we think these concepts are only for judgment day and salvation in heaven? Can our sins still be separating us for God, though we believe in Yeshua’s eventual redemption?
What we truly believe is evident in our emotions, not in our rationale. If we are consumed by worry and apprehension, we will not be in a restful attitude and we will not experience peace. If we live in fear there is no peace. I know in my mind that I will die one day and I believe I will be saved by Yeshua through His sacrifice, but today I can harbor fear and worry about the things of this life. I am prone to sin and cannot live perfectly, which causes conflict and stress. Paul addressed it, “So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature a slave to the law of sin.” (Romans 7:21-25) Come back to Yeshua with childlike faith, submission and filling with Holy Spirit presence. He invites us to come, buy and eat, without money with your Lord and Savior and receive His rest and peace. (Isa 55:1-2; Rev. 21:6)
