God’s Recurring Theme

God is Sovereign over Heaven and earth. He has not lost any authority or ability or efficacy of will. The enemy lies suggesting he has authority and that he is comparable to God. An eastern religion actually accepted this lie that Satan and God, Yen and Yang, are locked in an equal struggle neither able to overcome. This is flat out wrong as God defeated Satan after his rebellion in heaven when he was cast down to earth. (Isa. 14:12-20) This was God’s mercy, justice and will to completely triumph over Satan by redeeming His human creation, created in His own image, three parts in one, body, soul, and Spirit. In Israel He foreshadowed this plan in the book of Esther, with her uncle Mordecai, the Hebrew captives and Haman, the enemy.

In Esther we have a great story of victory snatched from the jaws of defeat. The theme belongs to God, who earlier demonstrated His last second miraculous salvation by parting the Red Sea so the freed Hebrews could escape Pharaoh’s pursuing army, which was drowned as the sea receded. Hundreds of years earlier the Hebrews were saved from a severe drought of epic proportions because God had positioned His servant Joseph in an Egyptian jail until he was released and promoted to be ruler of all Egypt, just in time to save the Hebrew family from starvation. Years later, God saved baby Moses from certain death to be raised as a member of Egyptian royalty. Ultimately, God used Moses to deliver the Hebrew’s from Egyptian captivity, as mentioned above at the Red Sea.

God wrote history with the unexpected humble hero/heroine who saves His people. Moreover, He sees that the proud villain and enemy of His people falls in his own trap and reaps the evil he planned for others. Esther, Joseph, Moses, David, and many others foreshadow God’s greatest triumph and final act in human history – Yeshua Messiah’s return to earth, saving Israel from certain annihilation, along with the entire Congregation of Believers and destruction of Satan’s armies. Just as prophesied in scripture everything will be subjected to God’s perfect will. The details, timing, characters and methods will be different but the overall theme is the same. All God’s people created down through history will reign along with our King Yeshua in Father God’s glorious presence. “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:3-4)
