Recent wars initiated by Russia and Gaza against Ukraine and Israel, respectively, illustrate a fundamental truth – Humans are broken, not essentially good. The Bible teaches this very clearly through its human history and God’s word. Secular humanists must cringe at recent events which rebut their supposition that humanity is fundamentally good. I think their underlying assertion includes them in power and exercising complete control, so they can produce utopia on earth as they claim. Of course, this is utter foolishness as no one can pull themselves up by their boot straps, let alone create utopia.
Recent events have really dealt a sever blow to humanist, as the world resists Russia’s atheistic communism which seeks to eliminate Ukraine’s freedom. Gaza is a paradox for humanist like Obama who try to balance the evil of Hamas from the tragedy of Israel’s just war in Gaza. It’s not that people are incapable of doing right, kind and loving acts. In the fall of mankind, our parents chose disobedience to God’s commandments, ever since each successive generation repeats our inherited flaw of disobedience. (Rom. 3:10)
The good news is that God planned from before time a fix in the form of Messiah Yeshua, who is God in human form. His message is summarized in the Bible and was popularized by signs in football stadiums stating “John 3:16.” “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16-17) The Bible is full of goodness, wisdom, truth, justice and righteousness which are found in no other human sources. It is validated by its prophetic content given by God through Hebrew prophets and Yeshua Messiah and His disciples, through divine inspiration. The Bible is a spiritual message of God’s love for Mankind. Its principles and precepts together with faith in Yeshua are the only hope for humanity.
A seemingly hard guidance is given to Israel’s former king in 2 Kings 13:15-19. The gist is that when a foreign aggressor seeks your annihilation you must fight back with overwhelming force or they will continue their attacks. In WWII allied forces eventually defeated the Nazi’s and it was a horrible war to end all wars, nevertheless, it was a just war. There is a time for war and a time for peace. “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) Today is the day of Salvation; accept the Truth and it will set you free.
