“He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters. He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out into a spacious place; he rescued me because he delighted in me.” (Psalms 18:16-19)
The Congregation of Believers in America are in distress and burdened. The world is moving from bad to worse, new levels of wickedness and oppression arise, but this is no surprise. “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evildoers and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.” (2 Timothy 3:12-13) We should realize it can get worse. Yeshua told us what to do. “But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. Everyone will hate you because of me. But not a hair of your head will perish. Stand firm, and you will win life.” (Luke 21:14-19)
The light pierces the darkness as hope in Yeshua dispels oppression. We have a Savior and God who never sleeps nor rests in His rule and watch-care over His people. He grants rest to those He loves. (Ps. 127:2) Our salvation is in Him not ourselves, government, leaders, or any worldly thing. The heavy weight and burden of oppression is not meant for us to bear or carry. “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30) Let us surrender ourselves to Yeshua again, casting ourselves, our families, our future and every care and need upon Him. (1 Pet. 5:6-7) Let us make room for His presence to fill our being and take the highest place in our mind, soul and heart.
We are not alone, but have the Holy Spirit to overcome and conquer anything that resists or rises up against the knowledge of Him and His good will and purposes. (Eph. 3:10-12) Nothing can separate us from His love and Yeshua intercedes even now. We are free to enter into His gates and courts finding that no good thing is withheld from our loving Father God in Yeshua Messiah (Ps. 34:10; 84:11) He has set us free from sin and death and brought us into life eternal with our Lord, Yeshua. “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.” (2 Corinthians 4:17) “This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.” (1 John 3:19-20)
