Rest For Your Soul

img_0119A soul that strives, that struggles, that is searching, that is tormented, that is self-reliant, that is lonely, is not resting. Yeshua said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matt. 11:28-30).

We are to take on His service, casting off any burden the enemy would lay upon us through accusation.

“There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his.” (Hebrews 4:9-10).

Will you accept the Lord’s rest under His terms?

“This is what…the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it.” (Isaiah 30:15).

“This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it…” (Jermiah 6:16).

“Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.  For you, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling. (Psalm 116:7-8).  There is no place your soul will find rest but in the Lord.

“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.  Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.  How long will you assault me?  Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence?  Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies.  With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse.  Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.  Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.   My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge.” (Psalm 62:1-8).

May you receive rest for your soul; that no circumstance can delay; that no hurt can distract; that no need can replace; that no person can steal.
