The Bright Glow of Christians

17116-proverbs-4-18“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way; though he fall, be shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord upholds his hand.” Psalm 37: 23-24.  “Blessed is the man who … delight(s) in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1: 1-2.

When we delight in the way of the Lord by mediating on and honoring His Word He promises to establish and protect us.  We will still have times of failures, due to our own fallen nature or other circumstances that come against us, but we will never be cast headlong, out of control, with the Sovereign God always in control of our lives.  “The Lord upholds all who are falling and raises up all who are bowed down.” Psalm 145:14.

“Lie not in wait as a wicked man against the dwelling of the righteous; do no violence to his home; for the righteous falls seven times and rises again, but the wicked stumble in times of calamity”. Proverbs 24: 15-16.  We may also have low points in our life due to persons or other circumstances that come against us, where we are even bowed down for a time, but God will be there to uphold us and raise us back up.  “Rejoice not over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me.” Micah 7:8.

It was a great blessing today as I mediated on these verses to be reminded that any failure or fall we, as Christians, experience will be temporary and our future always bright when we are stayed upon Jehovah.  Praise God!

“But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn, which shines brighter and brighter until full day.” Proverbs 4:18.  We may be a faint glow now battling against our fallen nature and living in a world that does not honor God.  However, one day we will, like the dawn, burst forth as the full day to everlastingly glow bright with our Savior.
