Doomed to Repetition

john-10-27-28We are all alike, there is no man who has been any better than another; all our distinctions are meaningless attempts to establish a figment of independence.  All religions were created by men trying to be accepted by God, but these are futile.  Even God’s own law given to Moses was insufficient because men are all the same down through history.

However, God came to earth as a man, Yeshua, the Messiah that had been prophesied thousands of years earlier.  He came to break the curse over men, releasing mankind from their bondage of rebellion and evil. Yeshua proved He was

God’s Son by all He did and said, including rising from the dead after three days and ascending into heaven. He did miracles no mere man could do.  He spoke words of life that no mere man could ever utter.  He established a bridge between man and God. That connection was not a religion of obedience through law, it was through faith – believing Him.  To those who hear He says things that are impossible: That we must be born again (John 3: 3); we must eat His flesh and drink His blood (John 6: 53); that He would give the Holy Spirit to dwell in each one who believes (Luke 3: 16); that to live eternally we must die to ourselves take up our cross and follow Him (Matt. 16: 24); and that He is the Savior of all who believe in Him (John 6: 40).

Since His coming, men have been enabled by God to hear the truth, come in faith, and accept Yeshua as their Savior and Lord.  Yeshua keeps His promise to give them the indwelling Holy Spirit and eternal life.  In this miraculous transformation the believer is  recreated into a new person, freed from bondage to sin, and empowered to a new life in the Spirit.  This reconnection to God almighty opens a doorway leading to conformity into the likeness of Yeshua Messiah. (Rom. 8: 29).  Everything that distinguished Yeshua will begin to be revealed in His followers, the congregation of believers.

Those who reject the truth of Yeshua continue in their slavery to evil, rebellion and death.  We all still have a fallen physical nature, and we will all rise again after our physical death to be judged by Yeshua and God’s word.  All who believe in Yeshua will find refuge from the wrath of God. “The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.  When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice… I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.  They will come in and go out, and find pasture.  The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10: 3-4, 9-10).
