America is at a crossroads and this is producing confusion and division in its citizens. These motives are influenced by conflicting emotions, reasons, rationalization, beliefs and purposes. In each person these various influences compete to make sense of every changing input against a background of tradition, education, faith, perspective and experience. This is the nature of a free and open society where a representative republic gives each citizen power to vote. Many external forces compete to form an Ideal in each person. Politicians, Media, Government Bureaucracy, Religious and Secular organizations, Academia, Families, Entertainment, Industries and businesses all attempt to exert an influence. Technology has changed the forces of influence, for example, Media was once a minor decentralized aspect through print, then radio, but through TV, internet, computers and cell phones it has become a unified monopoly of great influence. The family was once a major factor, but in a fragmented mobile society where habits become antiquated overnight, it has become weak. All this is very confusing.
The crossroad did not appear overnight, it has been in view for many years, and looked more like a “Y” at that time, but as we drew near we see that it is a “T”. This brings our confusion into a new level of concern, for to veer is totally different than a right or left turn. With all the changes, added input, shuffling of factors of influence and momentum of our society, we have lost our sense of direction. The twists and turns at high speed has disconnected us from history and our traditional destination route. What can we do? Where are we? Where is the map? To whom should we seek for direction? How much time do we have left? Did we fail to see the signs along the road? We got ourselves in this place, but how do we move forward in the right direction?
We must look outside, beyond ourselves, ignoring the hawking crowd of influencers to find insight, dispel the confusion, uncertainty and its reign among our emotions, fears and immediate desires. When a vote was imagined, it included everyone even fools, sluggards, and lazy no counts because it was based on a transcendent awareness that we are not masters of our own fate. Ten thousand years had proven our depravity, inability to create utopia, or even maintain peace, but a perfect human was predicted for thousands of years and arrived 1800 years earlier to live a perfect life, communicate a supernatural message of love from Creator God, and give hope and faith to all who believe the truth.
This person, Yeshua Messiah (Hebrew for Jesus Christ) is our guide and light to remove confusion and restore peace. At that time, He did not fix the world, but restored our connection with Father God. Also, He promised to return and set things right in this world, before the devil is destroyed. (Rev. 20:1-10) In Him is found peace, truth and salvation and there is no other way. Paul was blunt, “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!” (Galatians 1:6-8).
