Modern man speaks of millions and billions of years, with evolutionary chance randomly creating this present world. The Bible speaks of Creations beginning, end, and the Eternal reality of God. “No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. (1 Cor. 2:7; Titus 1:2; 2 Tim. 1:9) Eternal life was promised before time began. Yeshua existed before time began and in Him was the mystery- God’s salvation of Man to eternal life. “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—…” (Ephesians 1:4-5) Before the creation of the world God chose and predestined Believers for adoption through Yeshua Messiah. (Rom. 16:25-26) However, God made time, “And God said, ‘Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years…’ ” (Genesis 1:14) Time was made for man who lives a limited temporal life on earth.
God is above time and therefore not confined to a series of events. Thus, He exists in past, present, and future, like His omnipresent nature, He is everywhere simultaneously. This along with predestination is virtually impossible to fully comprehend with human intellect. Humans make plans to enact at a point in the future. God made time for man and communicates in words which fit a time based understanding, so that we may have a glimpse of the infinite eternal. When Moses asked whom he should say sent him to the Israelites, God said, tell them, “I Am” sent you. This conveys a God who is present and remains so irrespective of the passage of time. To fail to recognize the limits of our understanding is to err in respect of God himself. God is the initiator who calls forth existence from nothing. (Rom. 4:17) The question, “Which came first the chicken or the egg” is only relevant in a limited temporal existence fixed in time to pose a paradox that does not exist in this reality created by God.
When everything is reborn in Heaven time will cease. “There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.” The unbelieving worldly reasoning person will not accept this, but that is understandable. “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” (1 Corinthians 2:14) God made everything and time for a limited purpose in this physical realm. As Solomon observed, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens… He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1,11)
