God will judge everyone, dead and living of all time. His records will be incredibly detailed, complete, and irrefutable from top to bottom spanning every intention, thought, word, action, whether in public or secret and hidden. Below are various scriptures describing the judgment process and evidence that will be available.
Judgment day will come.
“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left. “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” (Matthew 25:31-33, 46)
“Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:27-28)
“You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat. It is written: “ ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ ” So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.” (Romans 14:10-12)
“But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. For this is the reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to human standards in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the spirit.” (1 Peter 4:5-6)
What is hidden will be revealed
“For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.”
(Ecclesiastes 12:14)
“I said to myself, “God will bring into judgment both the righteous and the wicked, for there will be a time for every activity, a time to judge every deed.” (Ecclesiastes 3:17)
“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13)
God was recording everything
“Record my misery; list my tears on your scroll— are they not in your record?” (Psalms 56:8
“If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?” (Psalms 130:3) [Though stated indirectly, it’s true without forgiveness who could stand.]
“Does he not see my ways and count my every step?” (Job 31:4)
“Whatever is has already been, and what will be has been before; and God will call the past to account.” (Ecclesiastes 3:15)
“You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.” (Psalms 139:2, 8)
God knows everything, nothing is hidden
“Or if you give the scroll to someone who cannot read, and say, “Read this, please,” they will answer, “I don’t know how to read.” Woe to those who go to great depths to hide their plans from the Lord, who do their work in darkness and think, “Who sees us? Who will know?””
Isaiah 29:12, 15
“But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.” (Matthew 12:36)
“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” (Luke 8:17)
Jesus, God in the flesh, knew the unuttered thoughts of men.
“At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!” Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?” (Matthew 9:3-4)
“Jesus, knowing their thoughts, took a little child and had him stand beside him.” (Luke 9:47)
“Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.” (Matthew 12:25)
God knows us through and through before time
“You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely.” (Psalms 139:1-4)
“The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.” (Genesis 6:5)
God Judges the motive of the heart
“Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God.” (1 Corinthians 4:5)
“This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.” (Romans 2:16 )
The final record reviewed
“Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth. God “will repay each person according to what they have done.” To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow evil, there will be wrath and anger.” (Romans 2:2, 6-8)
“And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.”(Revelation 20:12-15)
