Affiliation With God

“No misfortune is seen in Jacob, no misery observed in Israel. The Lord their God is with them; the shout of the King is among them.” (Numbers 23:21)

People talk and talk about the status of the economy, social harmony, financial stability, civil maintenance, healthcare and liberty and things are not good in America. Why? “I have a message from God in my heart concerning the sinfulness of the wicked: There is no fear of God before their eyes. In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.” (Psalms 36:1-2) The pursuit of injustice, evil behavior, greed, pride and reliance on human strength are contrasted to the blessing of God. “How priceless is your unfailing love, O God! People take refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.” (Psalms 36:7-9)

It is not too late to turn back to God our healer. He can set right the joints that are broken. He can restore the brokenhearted. All we cannot do for ourselves and our neighbors He can do. Most of all He will take the shackles and snares of the enemy off and restore our sight.  It’s not accomplished by political action. No laws or programs can bring it about. No amount of religious piety or practice will achieve His presence. It begins very simply with a change in heart, admitting that we all have gone our own way and wandered away from Him. Then, we find He is our very life, our peace and hope.

As we draw near to Him the Spirit brings the Word to mind:

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” (Psalms 100:1-4)

He is above every name and is exalted to the Highest place – our friend and Messiah Yeshua. He restores our soul; dispels all fear; ushers us into His presence where peace dwells. He is our source of love poured into our heart and we give it back in worship to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
