“…Yet no one seized him, because his hour had not yet come.” (John 8:20)
Yeshua lived in synch with the Holy Spirit and Father God. As a man I think the Spirit lead Him, just as we are to be guided, instructed, and prompted. More than once Yeshua, walked through crowds ready and desiring to kill Him. He knew His destiny, mission and ministry. From the time He was baptized by John, the Spirit anointed Him. Scripture teaches He modeled a godly life, particularly in submission, surrender and prayer. Our sacrifice is death to self, our ego, self-will, fleshly desires, worldly reasoning and self-trust.
The Spirit’s impartation accomplishes all these things, by the grace of God and faith in Yeshua Messiah. He is our Savior, the one who saves us, if we could surrender, submit and die to self on our own we would have something to boast about and would not need the Lord. “We know that the law is spiritual; but I am unspiritual, sold as a slave to sin. I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do. And if I do what I do not want to do, I agree that the law is good. As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me. For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.” (Romans 7:14-20)
Step one may be trusting that God is sovereign over all, and thereafter, submitting to the Spirit of Yeshua, (Gal. 4:6; Acts 16:7; Philippians 1:19) to do all scripture says He will. When we mature in this we will understand, hear, and respond as though we know the hour in which we are called and stand by God grace and charge. God has call you and I to be salt and light in a dark world. I believe He has and will give us everything we need to fulfill His call and our destiny in Yeshua Messiah.
