“Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.” (John 14:21)
Do you believe this scripture? Is it literal? Is it directed and meant for all Believers in Yeshua? Manifest means to show or demonstrate plainly; reveal; to make evident by displaying. Yeshua asserts that He will manifest Himself. There can be a big difference between knowing and perceiving a manifestation of the Spirit of Yeshua and deriving what our response is to be, if anything. We might assume that things are revealed so that we can act upon them, but that is not necessarily the case. Yeshua told the disciples that he would suffer and be killed. Peter rebutted this idea and was rebuked by Yeshua for opposing Him. (Matt. 16:21-23) Yeshua said, “And now I have told you before it takes place, so that when it does take place you may believe.” (John 14:29)
As independent Americans we often consider what action to take as a normal response to factual circumstances. It’s in our movies, the heroes in our stories take action and a motto says, “talk is cheap,” placing emphasis on actions. God’s Kingdom is opposite from the world. God reserves most responses to Himself because only He is supernatural and He deserves all the Glory. He doesn’t need our help. He reveals things to us for many reasons. “… I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all my purpose,’” (Isaiah 46:9-10)
Of the Spirit He says, “He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.” (John 16:14) Mary, Yeshua’s mother, saw many things said, done and prophesied about Yeshua; her response was, “And his mother treasured up all these things in her heart.” (Luke 2:51)
“Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God,” (Psalm 62:11) When God wants us to act, he will let us know, and He has given us guidance for every situation – Love. “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” (1 John 4:11-12)
