Although the Supreme Court may have sanctioned homosexual marriage, the Bible is clear that it is a perversion of God’s way.  Romans 1 states that God delivers homosexuals over to a reprobate mind to do what is morally wrong.  Despite the fact that God has planted evidence of himself and knowledge of what is right and wrong in the very nature of man by reason and moral law the homosexual suppresses the truth…which leads to God’s judgement. Romans 1:18-32 and Romans 2:15. Sodom was destroyed for its sin of homosexuality among other sins.  Genesis 19:5 and II Peter 2:7.

It is important to remember that the sin of homosexuality is no worse than any other sin and we need to be careful to approach a person caught up in homosexuality in love as we present the gospel to them.  We need to remember that our sins (even if not homosexual behavior) are just as wicked and will be judged just the same.  We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.  Romans 3:23.  The only hope for any sinner is to believe in Christ and accept his shed blood for remission of sins.

However, the problem today is that in many cases homosexuals may not even have opportunity to realize the gravity of their sin with the increasing mainstream acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle and the resistance of many churches to preach against such behavior from the pulpit.  Regardless, I Corinthians 6:9 states plainly that no one practicing homosexuality will inherit the kingdom of God and therefore, absent repentance, will face eternal punishment.  We should not hesitate to stand against the mainstream acceptance of homosexuality – not because that sin is worse than others – but because God says it is wrong.    We should remind all homosexuals, in love, that they should turn from this perverted and destructive lifestyle.
