I’ve read some books and watched some movies lately that got me thinking about worldly perspectives. The book “Three Cups of Deceit”, by Jon Krakauer, is an interesting book about the founder of Central Asia Institute which was organized to build schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The founder fabricated lies and fake events to concoct a book that would appeal to the good intentions of a guilt ridden public. The founder may have possessed good intentions as well, but the substance and reality was that he secretly robbed and defrauded the public becoming personally famous and wealthy, instead of building and operating schools in Asia. He was slapped on the hand by the liberal government and exonerated in the liberal courts, because we live in a society that exalts good intentions above truth and law. Truth and justice are founded upon our Constitution which is in turn is founded upon the God of Abraham, Messiah Yeshua and The Holy Spirit, which the multi-culturistic society of today’s world has rejected.
It is depressing to think about the corruption of worldly deeds; no matter how you analyze it, there are only more and more levels of twisted wickedness; there is a curse upon it and in the end it will be swept away in the wrath of God. The Apostle Paul says, “For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Cor. 1: 17-18).
The Power of God is in the Message of Messiah Yeshua, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. (John 3: 16-21).
The good intentions of men are worthless. Just as human wisdom and eloquence empties the message of the cross of its power, so there is no truth, justice, love or mercy in the evil deeds of those who reject the light of God. (Luke 6: 43-45). “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15: 5). May we stay connected in relationship with the Lord Yeshua so that He will lead us in truth and His ways.
