The world is lost, just as we believers were at one time. The great news is that today is the day of salvation and the Lord is drawing men to Himself still. He said, “When I am lifted up I will draw all people to myself.” (John 12: 32). This has at least two meanings, 1) that He would be lifted up on the cross to die for the penalty of our sins, and 2) as we exalt the truth that Yeshua is Messiah, Lord and Savior, then He will draw all men to Himself. He offers forgiveness to those who believe in Him. The power of the name above all names, Yeshua and the blood is the Lamb of God is power unto salvation. Resurrection power is in the Name of Yeshua, Jesus. This power opens the eyes of those blinded by the world and God creates a new person that is a living child of God from one dead in sins. This is God’s mighty power at work today.
He also causes His Spirit to dwell in each new believer. The Holy Spirit empowers the believer with supernatural insight into the word of God, comfort, peace, and ability to know God’s will and walk therein. The believer can ask anything in the name of Yeshua and it will be done according to the will of God. (John 14:14).
Having such great grace and favor, even the love of God, Peter offers a very helpful admonition, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. (1 Peter 3: 15-16). We are not to remove our focus from the exalted Lord Messiah, Yeshua. Be prepared to give your testimony of life from the dead by the amazing grace that is found in the blood of the Lamb who was slain and the Hope of eternal glory in His presence. Offering our witness of God’s saving grace must be done with gentleness because the truth convicts the lost of their sin. Also, we must respect that we were once lost ourselves and did nothing but believe when God opened our eyes to the Truth. Finally, we must be quick to confess the weakness that is in our fallen human nature and thereby keep a clean conscience before God and man. “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1: 9-10). The world takes offense at Yeshua and the Truth, therefore, good behavior will stand up against the lies of the enemy.
I can always share how good God has been to me. His blessings are fully revealed in heaven, but we have favor and receive good things in this life from our loving God. The life of a believer is peace, self-control, and joy on the Holy Spirit. God sets the lonely in family, and His family is large. The mercies of God are new every morning and I have seen it in my life. I hear from many in prison and they too can tell of God’s mercy and protection. “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” (Hebrews 13:3). God cares for prisoners; the greatest in heaven will have been imprisoned – Yeshua was. Most everyone can recall a time when, if it was not for God’s grace we would have been killed or seriously injured. This is a powerful witness to the human heart, God’s great mercy and unconditional love. When you are confronted by the world to justify your faith in the unseen supernatural God of the Bible, tell them of His goodness, mercy, and love shown to you, it is irrefutably true.
