Ask and Receive

Her two year old sister watches everything her older sisters do.  So, when I asked  Carley to come with me to put some ointment on the bite, her sister marched right behind her. After I rubbed a little alcohol on Carley’s shoulder, the two year old turned her shoulder towards me so she could have it put on her as well.  It didn’t matter to our two year old what facts, background or cause proceeded a gift, she wanted exactly what everyone else

was receiving.

We adults understand much more than children, but do you think I would withhold anything from my two year old granddaughter that would not harm her.  No way.  This is why Yeshua said over and over, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”  “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?  If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matt. 7: 7-11; 18: 19; 21: 22; John 14: 13-14; 15: 7,16; 16: 23).

Let’s begin afresh to ask God for all that He gave to our older siblings as recorded in the Word of God.  If we come in faith asking God for any good thing, He will do it.  Lord, build up and heal your church; bring unity among your people so that the world will know that you sent Yeshua and love us.  Lord, do the works you did while you were on earth and greater through your children: healing the sick, restoring sight, hearing, life, and preaching good news, releasing captives and bringing back our prodigal children.  In the mighty name of Yeshua Messiah.
