The single greatest event in human history is the death of Yeshua on the Roman Cross, at the date that time changed from BC (before Christ) to AD (After death). The pagan world is striving to change this time distinction, but the evidence, credibility and knowledge of Yeshua Messiah, (Hebrew for Jesus Christ) is too great in history and in our current day through the impact of faith upon the human heart and soul. Even today, multitudes are coming to faith, simply through the power of the Good News and message of Yeshua.
One might say his coming as an infant through birth by a virgin or His resurrection from the grave and ascension are the points of distinction, but what is referred to as the “Passion” is the critical action initiated at His coming and certified at His resurrection. John records the account of Yeshua on the cross, “Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, ‘I am thirsty.’ A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’ With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.” (John 19:28-30) By His substitutionary death, He completed the work of restoring mankind to Father God. “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.” (Hebrews 10:14) It was prophesied ages before He appeared, but His purpose was articulated in detail. “Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the Lord makes his life an offering for sin, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand. After he has suffered, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” (Isaiah 53:10-12)
Today, Muslims, atheists and multitudes of oppressed peoples throughout the world are accepting the message of Yeshua, some through supernatural revelation, most through the message of the Bible and its enlightening power of God. The greatest evangelistic event is yet to come, when Yeshua returns to deliver Israel from total annihilation. At that time all Israel will accept their Messiah, Yeshua when they see Him. “Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and ‘every eye will see him, even those who pierced him’; and all peoples on earth ‘will mourn because of him.’ ” So shall it be! Amen.” (Revelation 1:7) The Hebrew prophets spoke of this same event, “And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication. They will look on me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for him as one grieves for a firstborn son.” (Zechariah 12:10) This mourning will be changed into rejoicing as the full family of God unites with Israel in Yeshua. All this is possible because of His sacrifice, the greatest moment in human History.
