Yeshua, (Jesus’ Hebrew name) said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12) Today, a great darkness is falling on the world, particularly in America where lies, hypocrisy, injustice, crime and corruption are rampant. Even darker is the delusional ideology that is preached in our educational system and secular institutions. However, the Lord’s Word remains true and His promise available. The “light of life” is faith, hope and love in the person of Yeshua, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is risen from the dead and sits at the right hand of Father God, meaning that authority and power belong to Him.
How is the light turned on? “I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?” (Galatians 3:2) We might try in our own thinking to shine light and expel this present darkness, but following Yeshua does not involve human thinking, reason or trying to be good. It may be God’s will to humble America and separate His sheep from the goats, to bring unity to the Congregation of Believers and cause a satisfied worldly church to decide whether to follow him in self-sacrifice or not. “But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24:15) Light distinguishes everything it touches and expels shadows. “This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.” (John 3:19-21)
When confusion, despair, and sadness overwhelm you in your search for understanding, fulfillment and peace consider the Word of God, which has been preserved miraculously through the centuries in the Bible. You will find a message of love, as well as truth regarding your own failings, mistakes, and evil deeds. You will be challenged by the truth to admit your evil deeds and seek God’s ways and help or reject it and continue to pursue your own way or worse way of the corrupt world and every sort of evil and perversion. In your heart, you know this way has not brought you any lasting satisfaction, happiness or peace. Open the door of your heart to Yeshua; He will respond with light and life.
