“Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers, and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 13:40-42
“So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 14:49-50
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.” Romans 1:18-20
Little is heard today, including in churches, of the judgement of unbelievers and their ultimate fate of being sent to Hell. In fact, there is less and less preaching on the sins themselves that will send the lost to Hell. This is unfortunate and does not show any love for the lost who need to be warned of the “wrath to come”. Even without this warning the unrighteous are without excuse. God has plainly revealed himself to all – his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly perceived by everyone in the things that have been made. Therefore, no one will have an excuse on judgement day.
At the end, the righteous and evil will be separated and the evil thrown into Hell. This will be a terrible place, a fiery furnace where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The Word of God does not go into detail about the specifics of Hell but it will be a dark place of torment for those who reject God. The greatest torment will be the eternal separation from God and and his blessings and all that is good and lovely and satisfying.
We should endeavor to stand up for Truth and speak against sin in this wicked age to remind unbelievers of what they already know but reject – Christ is Lord and they will be called to account for their sin not covered by His blood.
