“…for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.” (Luke 1:15) This passage is an Angelic prophetic message about John the Baptist. It reminded me of the significance of the filling of the Holy Spirit in every Believer. We may not have been filled during pre-birth, but once we accepted Yeshua as Lord and Savior, He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit. Neither John nor any of us can make it happen or be deserving of it, but there is no greater power and blessing in you than God’s gift of His Spirit.
This is my prayer for each of you who are following with us as we share of the wonders of God in this blog – that Holy Spirit will stir you and lead you into the footprints of Yeshua. Just this week He reminded me of those in need, some who are in despair, trapped and without resource waiting for help to arrive. They may need food or work and like us all in need of encouragement. The Spirit will lead you into your assignment. Lord, Yeshua we know your love and ask that you guide us where, how, and to whom we are to pour out your love. I see troops of Believers carrying exactly what is needed to the poor, downtrodden, captives, discouraged, hungry and thirsty people who have too long experienced want and rejection. Lord, your ministry is our charge, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4:18-19)
Lord, we don’t know or have the power to set people free or give sight to the blind, but we have experienced your good news; give us boldness to speak and give us faith to be channels of your deliverance, healing and recovery. Nothing is impossible with you. How many times we ourselves have succumbed to traps of the enemy or become captive by our own selfish desires. Merciful God delivered and restored us and He is ready and willing to do it for others. This is my prayer for each of us, to be God’s envoy of deliverance, restoration, Good-news and aid as the Spirit leads, in the Almighty name of Yeshua Messiah.
