I want to be involved in revival. The Holy Spirit is willing to breakout among His people. God’s love has been poured out into our hearts. (Rom. 5:5) What is resisting, quenching, and opposing Holy Spirit revival? How can He be resisted? Who can oppose Him and prevail? The Kingdom of God has been subjected to violence and violent people have been raiding it. (Matt. 11:12) The Good news of the kingdom is being preached and everyone is forcing their way into it. (Luke 16:16) “Woe to you teachers of the law and Pharisees you shut the door to the Kingdom of heaven in peoples faces. You yourselves do not enter and will not let those enter who are trying to.”(Matt. 23:13) Stiff necked people, those who refuse to hear and open their hearts, resist the Holy Spirit. (Acts 7:51) We must look to ourselves and get a heart of faith to open ourselves to the voice and will of the Holy Spirit. We must approach with humility and care not seeking our own way. The Spirit must lead, we must submit and receive, hearing, waiting, honoring and nurturing His presence within. Our own mouth and reasoning can be opposed to God. It is from within our own heart that defilement comes. (Matt. 15:11) We can purify our hearts in the blood of Yeshua. We can allow God to cleanse us and acquire the mind of Christ. We can look at the temple arrangements as a model, the laver, candlestick, show bread, inner court and the holy of holies which are now open to every believer in Yeshua. We are His temple.
Every good and perfect gift comes from God above, but He does not force himself upon anyone and knows us completely, every motive, thought, intent and desire. He has been very clear that unless we come as children we will not enter the kingdom – faith of a child is essential. Adults are preoccupied with their concept of order, their own agenda and rationalization, which shuts out access and Lordship of the Spirit. We do need each other and a house is not built by one brick, still where two or three are gathered in the name of Yeshua, He is there. (Matt. 18:20) God is not withholding revival, people are, through lack of faith, selfish demands, limitations and simply not wanting what God wants. When we get to Heaven how many will ask, “Lord, why was your revival presence so rare?” To which he will reply, “…wisdom is proved right by all her children.” I came and you refused. (Deut. 1:43, Jer. 38:15, Ezekiel. 24:13, Isa. 43:20-22, Luke 66:22-29, Luke 7:32-35)
