Israel’s Promise Today

“When your days are over and you rest with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, your own flesh and blood, and I will establish his kingdom. He is the one who will build a house for my Name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his father, and he will be my son. When he does wrong, I will punish him with a rod wielded by men, with floggings inflicted by human hands.” (2 Samuel 7:12-14)

God promised an eternal throne for His Kingdom to the descendant of David. He stated that this Son of David’s own blood would build God House. God will be His father and He God’s son. Because the Kingdom is eternal, discipline will be administered through the hands of men’s affliction. This prophecy has a dual fulfillment which confirms its eternal significance. The temporal fulfillment is through Solomon, the eternal through Yeshua, both son’s of David. The physical temple built by Solomon. The Eternal temple built by Yeshua. Both the physical and spiritual temples housed God’s presence, briefly and forever. The Holy Spirit accomplished this on earth when the Holy of Hollies was filed with God’s presence and later occupied the hearts of the congregation of Believers world-wide eternally, beginning in Jerusalem with anointing as tongues of fire resting on the disciples. (Acts 2:3) The presence of the Holy Spirit within Believers is an eternal impartation. Discipline of God’s children comes through the affliction of men who are enemies, but used to correct and purify the Nation and Congregation. (1 Peter 4:12-17) This started with Abraham and Israel and continues today as Israel and Believers are the most persecuted segment of the human population down through history. The punishment required by mankind’s sin was atoned for by Yeshua’s unjust suffering on the Cross, purposed by God for our salvation and eternal forgiveness.

All that we see in this temporal physical world regarding Israel is also a model of the eternal Spiritual Congregation of Believers. Like the nation of Israel that rejected in-part their Messiah, the Church has resisted the leading of the Holy Spirit, embracing heresy, unbelief, worldliness and rebellion. This has brought discipline by oppression and persecution by unbelievers. Still, the promises, authority and affirmation of God stands firm and true. Yeshua will return to earth to draw Israel to their Messiah and salvation in His Name. His return will gather all Believers world-wide in a Spiritual renewal, uniting with Israel into complete unity of God’s children under Yeshua’s Kingdom authority.
