Spiritualization Realization

I am the Lord’s servant. (Luke 1:38)

God’s will for the disciples life is written in the Book of Life. It may just be your name, but the eternal aspects are included by attribution. God is sovereign over all creation, which includes us. Life is God’s gift. First, comes birth into physical life followed by rebirth into spiritual life. (1 Cor. 15:46) All life is manifested; physical life is evidenced by breath and spiritual life evidenced by impartation of the Holy Spirit. 

Scripture says of John the Baptist, “for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even before he is born.” (Luke 1:15)

“His father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied:” (Luke 1:67) “When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!” (Luke 1:41-42) “Now there was a man in Jerusalem called Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him. It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not die before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.” (Luke 2:25-26) Later, after Yeshua was raised from death He imparted the Spirit to the disciples and all Believers. (Acts 2:38) God imparts His Spirit.

Yeshua explained, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26) The gifts of the Spirits are given to build up the Congregation of Believers. Perhaps one of the most destructive lies of the enemy is denying and quenching the Holy Spirit. (I Thess. 5:19) Scripture warns in the most severe terms against this, “And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:30; Heb. 10:28-29; Matt. 12:31-32)

Given the priority of the Spirit’s leading, one might conclude it is better to err on the the side of believing too much on the Spirit’s influence, rather than too little. As our preacher said, “I would rather stand before God saying, “I took you literally,” rather than saying, “I didn’t think you meant what you said.”” God is Spirit, so let’s submit to Him. “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
