Security vs Tension

God will not let the enemy prevail over us, though he will test us in a process of refining, to draw the dross out from our heart. Holiness and purity are in His presence. We can find no place more secure than in His hands, the everlasting arms. As a parent and even as a child, we understand family and its seat of nurturing and all things healthful. God puts the lonely in family. His care is as supreme as every other facet of His being. He said, “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3)

The Lord of the Sabbath instituted a day of rest for our benefit. We rest from our work finding peace and joy in Him. Provision is part of being secure, the Lord is my shepherd I lack nothing. “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” (Psalms 23:2-3) These words are about peace, rest, reassurance and restoration. God releases tension and stress that can build up within us. “I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” The authority and strength of God gives comfort and covering where all anxiety dissipates and we take deep breaths of relaxation. “And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything. Rather, he himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.” (Acts 17:25) 

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10) He gives us the Holy Spirit and says, “With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” (Isaiah 12:3) We have unending reasons to sing God’s praise. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13) We have a comforter, the Father of compassion and God of all comfort. (2 Cor. 1:3) Yeshua says, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27) “But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.” (Malachi 4:2)
