“Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?  So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” (Matthew: 19: 4:6).

What an amazing revelation Jesus gives us in this answer to the religious leaders of his day.  The concept of male and female cannot be explained in evolution theory, it is so fundamental, so marvelous in design and interrelated with so much in our being, our identity, our behavior, our thinking and our desires.  Jesus tells us it is even…much more in the sight of God, when we are married we become “one flesh”.  It is in this union of oneness that we are able to become a new unit of family with children as God blesses.  There are spiritual aspects of marriage that are a product of the physical joining into one flesh.  Jesus tells us further that God is behind and before us in marriage, when he says, “what God has joined together…”.  So, we see eternal truths at work in marriage, that God set it in place during creation, that He brings it about among people and the union of marriage initiates a new spiritual and physical nature for the man and woman, who are no longer two but one.

For some unbelievers marriage is an outdated contractual arrangement invented by primitive man.  It is easily and regularly set aside lending support for its waning usefulness. Nevertheless, these same men along with a godless Supreme court have redefined it in our crumbling American society in order to satisfy the whims of the gay minorities.  Undermining ancient foundational truths does have consequences, not only in the interpretation and application of law, but  future stability of the very society upon which this country was based and founded.  

However, do not be alarmed, God was not surprised by the behavior of this errant Supreme Court, He was not killed by the society of the 1960’s that pronounced Him, “Dead”.  He was not shocked when the predecessors of our current unbelieving leaders, kicked God out of our public schools and began to silence the mention of Him in our public forums. God is storing up the wrath that wicked blind despots are earning for themselves, but His eyes are on the righteous, those who fear Him, and seek Him with their whole hearts.  The fate of this ailing society and country is not in the hands of the wicked unbelievers, it remains firmly in God’s control and the Body of Messiah – the true Church will have much to do yet.  – ” if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles: 7: 14).  “If my people would only listen to me, if Israel would only follow my ways, how quickly I would subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes! Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him, and their punishment would last forever. But you would be fed with the finest of wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you.” (Psalm: 81: 13-16).
