Liar! Do Not Listen

media_bias“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20).

“A wicked person listens to deceitful lips; a liar pays attention to a destructive tongue.” (Proverbs 17:4).

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires.  He was a murderer…from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” (John 8:44)

Liars who spread deceit are common, but the liberal media is full of them and it is important that we do not listen to them.  If you listen to a liar it will lead to bad consequences.  Dan Rather concocted lies about George Bush, he was exposed and fired; Peter Jennings was shown to have been deceitful in representing his qualifications; Brian Williams lied regularly and was fired.  Bill Clinton lied over and over about his numerous adultery/abusive behavior, including a lie in federal court, under oath.  A large part of the liberal media’s deceit is not reporting the truth.  There are many questionable matters the current administration has been involved with that are ignored.  Most recently, the terrorist attack at Ohio State University was shown to have been connected to Islamic jihad, but the liberal media hardly mentioned it, if at all.

We have all told lies large and small, usually to save our pride, money, or desire; moral people know that this is wrong.  We regret it, seek forgiveness, and work hard to be truthful and honest in our dealings.  Judgment belongs to God, so in this we are not condemning anyone to hell, but just as we would not hire an alcoholic for a driving job, we don’t want liars to be broadcasters of news.  Because national media executives continually select liars and spread deceit our duty is to turn a deaf ear to them.  For many years they have been proven to have a liberal bias that has grown to outright advocacy.

“Then Job replied: Doubtless you are the only people who matter, and wisdom will die with you!  But I have a mind as well as you; I am not inferior to you.  Who does not know all these things?  I have become a laughingstock to my friends, though I called on God and he answered— a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless!  Those who are at ease have contempt for misfortune as the fate of those whose feet are slipping.  The tents of marauders are undisturbed, and those who provoke God are secure— those God has in his hand.  But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?  In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.  Does not the ear test words as the tongue tastes food?  Is not wisdom found among the aged?  Does not long life bring understanding? To God belong wisdom and power; counsel and understanding are his. What he tears down cannot be rebuilt; those he imprisons cannot be released.  If he holds back the waters, there is drought; if he lets them loose, they devastate the land.  To him belong strength and insight; both deceived and deceiver are his.  He leads rulers away stripped and makes fools of judges. He takes off the shackles put on by kings and ties a loincloth around their waist.  He leads priests away stripped and overthrows officials long established.  He silences the lips of trusted advisers and takes away the discernment of elders.  He pours contempt on nobles and disarms the mighty.  He reveals the deep things of darkness and brings utter darkness into the light.  He makes nations great, and destroys them; he enlarges nations, and disperses them.  He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; he makes them wander in a trackless waste.  They grope in darkness with no light; he makes them stagger like drunkards.” (Job 12:1-25).
