Spiritual Sight

She seemed to know well the gist of Christianity, John 3: 16, that is sometimes used as a campaign slogan to reach the lost, but it seemed hollow and standard.  I responded, “The Bible is supernatural, just like God who sent it.”  Then, I made a bold suggestion, that I had once put to myself, “Open the Bible and begin to read as though it were written to you, listening for God’s voice.”  We have a promise, If you sincerely come near God He will come near you. (James 4: 8).

We can get into a rut of considering everything in the natural, people, things, events, circumstances, we analyze with our rational mind, even when we can make no sense of it.  But occasionally, like a sun ray piercing the clouds, we see that there is another dimension to this life – the Spirit realm.  Then, we stop our reasoning and begin to see clearly troubling events that make no sense, as a vision of tilled earth, dark rich soil, weed-free, planted for a future harvest.  It is God’s supernatural work in our lives for our good, out of His infinite love and mercy.  The pain and confusion is like breaking ground, pulling up weeds from the roots, clearing and tilling fallow soil.  The purpose was for our good and God’s glory, so we see and understand.

Spiritual vision is what we need to see through the confusion that is so prevalent today.  We see by God’s enabling, no rationalization, no analysis, but we gain insight and peace.   “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.” (Romans 8: 6).  The Child of God is called to live in the Spirit, walking according to the Spirit and go forth in the power of the Spirit.  We are given divine vision in the Spirit to see what the Father is doing. This is what Yeshua saw when the disciples returned to him at Jacobs well.  He saw in the Spirit fields ripe ready for harvest. (John 4: 34-39).  Cast your cares on the Lord, rest in His unfailing love, surrender completely to God’s sovereign rule over ever aspect of life here on earth.  Ask God for clear vision to see the Spiritual journey, conquests, (Luke 10: 19), exploits, victory, (1 Cor. 15: 57) and blessings overflowing as you follow Yeshua, King of Kings and Lord of Lords, to whom all supremacy has been given.  He left us this charge, “…the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.  I do not give to you as the world gives.  Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14: 26-27).
