When we see disunity and strive that identity politics has brought upon American society it can sadden and confuse those of us who lived before this evil arose. Israel has been dealing with a much more extreme version since it was restored. Some Arabs and most “Palestinians” practice identity politics, perhaps Yasser Arafat was a leading initiator. It united various interest and people from different national origins into one new “Palestinian” block. The aim was not to resolve differences, problems, or injustices, but rather to gain as much power as possible. This is best illustrated by the Palestinian position, “Death to Israel”, which undermines any real lasting peace, compromise, settlement or agreement. One can not negotiate when their own destruction is on the table. Of course, Israel has many other groups who have also joined the fray with their “Identity, such as the Ultra Orthodox.
In America, we have Black militants, Gays and Feminists, but now other more fringe groups are seeking a place at the table of the Federal largesse. Someone may claim offense by these terms I have used, but you get the idea, and any blame should be against the guru’s of political correctness who constantly try to further divide with new “sensitive” group labels. Things have gotten so unreasonable that women and men can no longer be used to denote gender. If a group can change the language it is an illustration of their power. I don’t think identity politics in America has reached the level of Israel’s, as they still have first generations that participated in war against each other. In America it demonstrates the insanity of identity politics; the last slave owners died over a hundred years ago and later generations have grown up post segregation, under equal civil rights laws. Moreover, some new groups are the product of sex reassignment surgery that was developed very recently. Must this insane selfish madness for power be tolerated?
There may not be a human solution for lasting peace and Israel certainly hasn’t solved it, but they have endured with occasional agreement and a firm refusal to give over their national identity or national security for a multicultural society. Evil is resident in the fallen nature of man, the rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world and spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12) These are behind identity politics, political correctness, division and every other device that spreads and engenders hatred among mankind. We are in this fight. The Lord of Glory, Yeshua Messiah, (Jesus’ Hebrew Name) is the victor having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. (Colossians 2:15). He will return to win the physical victory and draw Israel to her Messiah in unity with the congregation of Believers from every nation, and He will reign for a thousand years. (Revelation 20: 2, 4) Therefore, He told us, do not fear.
